Note from Dakota Alert:
We have recently discovered that we had a technical inaccuracy in the manufacturing process on some of our wireless transmitter modules. In order to correct this inaccuracy we unfortunately must reduce the maximum transmission range between our transmitters and receivers. The range on our 3000 Series products will now be about 600'. While we are still confident that we have some of the best wireless driveway alarms on the market, we regret any inconvenience this may cause. If you need more range than our 3000 Series is capable of providing, please consider our MURS products which still have a range of several miles.
The transmitter operates on one 9-volt battery and is easily mounted on a tree or post near the drive. The transmitter uses a passive infrared (PIR) beam to detect people or vehicles to a distance of up to 80 feet, then sends a radio signal back to the WR-3000 receiver up to 3,000 feet away*.
The transmitter is weather proof and meant for exterior locations. Up to four zones can be monitored with additional transmitters. The transmitters can be programmed so they will each sound a different tone at the receiver.
* Actual range may vary depending on the local terrain.
