DSC Wireless Window Contact, Submitted by Frank - PA on 12/10/2010

Nice product. In addition to glass break detectors, should provide a comfortable degree of security in most any environment. Upon receiving the devices, my first impression was how small they are, as opposed to the photo on line. That being said, installation was quite easy. They, obviously, must be enrolled, and once done and utilizing the "904" section can be quickly tested for range and operation. A word of caution, however, be sure to differentiate the Hex "B" from the number "8". They are very different in a base 16 format, and, you will make yourself insane trying to figure out why the device will not enroll. My only real concern is with the magnet. It is only held on with a little piece of 2 sided tape, and, in such, seems to be prone to falling off. (aka... hello Mr Policeman--- no, there is no problem here. followed by nasty look etc.) We will see. The instructions for placement are weak, however, how much instruction is required to tape something to a window? Just keep the pair within 5/8" of one another, and, watch the target lines scribed into the sides and you will be good to go. Time will justify the logevity of this one, but, for the time being, it appears to be a comprehensive solution for an installation that can be done no other way. (Unless you ENJOY arguing with Anderson about the voided warranty on your windows from drilling holes in them.)
