Product Description

The EBP-401 is a surface mount, 40 ft., long range annunciator system using active infrared technology. This invisible single infrared beam triggers a pleasant chime sound when the infrared beam is interrupted. The system can be installed anywhere inside the buildings where traffic surveillance is required.

I used to have an ebp 405a at my store in San Diego, Ca. It would work great. This new one that thy started replacing it with the ebp-401 is horrible. If you put your hand to cover the beam the bell doen't go off, only when you remove your hand does it ring. With the 405a if anything would disturb that beam the bell would sound. The sound of the chime is a recording and very cheap sounding. If the sun shines on the reflector it will set the thing off in a tantrum of rings. It honestly looks and sounds like something I could get from Raido Shack. Unfortunetly Amseco decided to dicontinue the making of the 405a and suggest that this be the replacement for it. This review has nothing to do with this website only the product.
