The Series 600 heat detector is striking, tough, and features a combined rate-of-rise and fixed temperature operation. The heat detectors are currently available in 135F (57C) or 200F (94C) temperature ratings.

Rate-of-Rise The rate-of-rise function responds to heat quickly by a rapid upward temperature increase. The pneumatic function responds to a rapid rise in temperature, about 15F (8C) per minute, when the air in the sealed chamber is released more quickly than it can escape through the calibrated vent. The advance in preessure depresses the diaphragm down; the electrical contacts then close the circuit. Rate-of-rise devices have a wide spacing stipend of 50 foot centers.

Fixed Temperature The fixed temperature element reacts to heat by responding to a specific temperature mode. The element is designed using a fusible alloy, which will fuse at the fixed temperature setting of 135F (57C) or 200F (94C). When triggered, the external heat collector drops away to give quick visual verification that the element has operated.

Low Profile The units come out only 1-3/8 inches from the ceiling surface with a mounted junction box. The attractive, all-white finished design is aesthetically compatible with most ceilings.
