The GE 60-511-02-95 motion sensor comes with an ITI transmitter motion sensor that detects infrared energy given off by persons within a protected area. An alarm is indicated only if the sensor has been armed and the viewed energy has the correct motion, temperature, and timing matching a human intruder's, thus ensuring that the number of false alarms is highly reduced. The sensor utilizes fresnel lenses to supply seven different coverage pattern options, including an exclusive pattern to protect against accidental activation by pets.

I bought this Wireless PIR Pet Immune Motion Sensor to replace a Wireless SAW Pet Immune Motion Detector that started giving me false alarms when I started using the forced air furnace, even though the ceiling vent was across the room. This unit is more sophisticated. There are vertical and horizontal adjustments, and 3 sensitivity settings, versus 2 on the SAW model. If you have a pet, both units require the lowest sensitivity setting. This PIR sensor is physically bigger, and very good at walk test detection, versus fair for the SAW. I own a 19lb dachshund who never triggered any false alarms, but the false alarms have stopped with this unit in the same location, only 12" lower (6.5' vs 7.5') as required by the installation instructions. I plan on replacing my 2 remaining SAW units (trouble free) now that I have experienced the difference.

I purchased this item because have a small 14 lb. cat, hoping that the advanced pet immune technology would enable me to set the motion alarm without false trigger. Went on vacation, cat set off alarm twice a day. Does not work with small animals of any size.

I found it performs better, has more flexibility, and was easier to install then the ITI Pet Immune SAW Motion Sensor. This unit removes from the mounting plate easily, and top-access is not an issue, if you follow the instructions to "pry up and out from the bottom."

Difficult to mount because the access is on top after it is installed. I cut off the the lower tabs holding it on the mounting plate. I used the built in screw to attach it to the mounting plate.
