CONCEPT
The Rednet group of active infrared photobeams is a selection of detection devices for internal and external functions. The system utilises the infrared transmission to synchronise receivers and transmitters and eliminates the need for hardwire connections between towers. This feature greatly cuts down on installation cost and time. An automatic graded alarm response system combines the capability of providing high levels of detection with a low false alarm risk.

OPERATION
The RN4 10-25, 25-75 and RN4 75-150 make up four transmitters and four receivers which can be installed within either a free-standing or wall mounted tower enclosure space. The towers feature an ultra-slimline design and provide a 180° unobstructed view to beams. This results in Rednet being compatible with all system configurations. Tower enclosures RLW 175 and RLT 175 are made from aluminium and acrylic with each fixing being zinc passivated steel or stainless steel. This assures that housings remain both functional and attractive throughout their installation period.

GRADED ALARM RESPONSE
Rednet graded alarm response is a technique to reduce false alarms while maintaining security levels. The system monitors the sixteen individual beam paths and when an object bigger than the distance between the beam heads is detected a beam response time of 40 milliseconds is employed. If a single beam is broken the system automatically sets the required beam break time to 500 milliseconds or more. This dual response reduces the likelihood of the beams responding to small animals or blowing debris while still offering protection against a crawling intruder.
