Ademco/Honeywell

You have most likely, without realizing it, seen Honeywell before.  Honeywell traces its history back to an inventor Albert Butz and the year 1885.  Though it was not known as a security company until 1957 when the company bought into a fire detector and alarm firm, Honeywell was known for technological research and advancement.  In 1963, the company changed its name from Minneapolis-Honeywell Regulator Co. to Honeywell.  The company's focus, however, was not in security alone, but in a variety of fields: electronic controls, automation, aeronautics, etc.  Honeywell's insignia is found on anything from thermostats to space shuttles.

In 1999, Honeywell acquired a popular internationally acclaimed security company called Pittway.  Pittway, which contained many smaller but well-known companies such as Pyrotector, Apex, ADI, and Notifier, was identified mainly as a fire detection company, though it also dealt with intrusion devices. 

Ademco has been a top name in security systems in the twentieth century.  As a subsidiary of Pittway Corporations, Ademco was an eminent and a reliable manufacturer of security systems.  Ademco's Vista Systems are an example of Ademco's excellence.  Vista systems are some of the most preferred residential and commercial security systems on the market.  Under Pittway and even more under Honeywell, Ademco went global.  The integration between Honeywell's popularity and electronic research and Ademco's security systems created a whole new addition in the world of business and home security.

Now Ademco/Honeywell creates some of the finest alarm systems and is one of the leading companies in wired and wireless home security technology.
