This kit is almost the same as the ELK-MK400, less the Magic Module (ELK-MM443). It's best for Magic Module owners that have to edit a Magic Module feature. This kit contains hardware and software for editing, creating, and downloading Magic Module programs using a PC.

Programming:

Magic Module files are transferred from your PC to the Magic Module via the PCs serial port as well as an RS-232-to-RS-485 Data Converter module (ELK-MB485). After the programming process, the Magic Module can be disconnected from PC support for stand alone performance. All programming is stored in non-volatile memory. Basic setup for programming the Magic Module.

The Magic Module is compatible with the ELK-MB485 Data Interface through the 4-pin ribbon cable that comes with it. The ELK-MB485 is compatible with your computer via the included 9-pin serial cable. Each unit is powered by the included 12V DC power supply pack (ELK-P1216).

Program Editing:

Set up your Magic Modules using either the Code Editor Programming Languages or the ELK Application Writer. The software for programming is available on the CDROM which is included in the Starter Kit.

The ELK Application Writer was manufactured to permit non-programmers the ability to use and program many of the home automation features of the Magic Module by the simple click of a button in the Application Writer editor. This allows quick customization and programming of a very powerful and cost-efficient home automation system. (for ELK-MM443 and MM447 controllers)
The ELK Code Editor is a rudimentory language compiled into code bytes that the microprocessor reads and evaluates through an integrated operating system. This programming atmosphere is familiar to veterans programmers. (for ELK-MM443, MM447 and MM220 controllers)
